Close Call

Last Saturday night we were heading out the door for the evening when we smelled something burning. We searched the laundry room where the smell was coming from. At first we thought it was the dryer that was on but the smell was not coming from there. Then we noticed the smoldering bubbling melting outlet! Take a look at these pictures. If we hadn't discovered this who knows what could have happened. The crazy thing is that nothing was even plugged into it. We called our electrician ( not the one that wired the house) and figured out that the screws were not tightened down enough. The dryer runs off the same circuit so that is what was feeding it. I am just so thankful that we noticed it in time. That would not have made for a very good Mothers day.

An Uninvited Guest

So the other day we had an uninvited guest. As you can see by the pictures we had a bat that decided to take a nap on our porch. I know they eat bugs and are good to have around but I think I would rather take my chances with the bugs!

So Byron got a broom and as Lars says " He broomed it!" So far it has not come back but I will keep you posted.

The Father and Son Camp Out

Last Friday Byron and Lars went on their first father and son camp out with the ward. I don't think they got much sleep but they had a lot of fun. The next morning they packed up camp and went to IHOP (now that is roughing it) . While they were at IHOP an older gentleman told Byron that he had been watching them. The gentleman expressed how important he thought it was to spend time with your children on a one on one basis, and told Byron he could tell that he was a great dad that has a great relationship with his son. I couldn't agree more Byron is an amazing Dad!

Hailey Learns To Ride

Due to the warm weather the kids have finally been able to go outside. Here are a few pics and a video of Hailey's first attempt at riding her bike without training wheels. Good job Hailey keep it up!

I'm A Big Kid Now!

Yes the day had arrived Lars is potty trained! He has done such a great job. I tried the whole pull up thing and that was a joke so I decided to just dive right in with the underwear. Guess what it worked! Not even one accident. He even makes it through the night. I am so proud of him and think he looks rather cute in his big boy underpants.

Good Job Lars Mommy Loves You!

Wake Up!

So the other morning Byron and I awoke to music being played. It was Maggie! She figured out how to pull the trunk on her little elephant and make it play a lullaby. I guess it was her way of telling us that it is time to WAKE UP! It was pretty cute but now that she knows how to do it we often hear the lullaby playing for us at 3:00 in the Morning. It is still cut but a little early.

She is getting so big and now likes to sit in the living room on a blanket surrounded by all her toys. It is so fun to watch her play. It is amazing that 8 months ago we didn't even know this little person and now we can't imagine life without her. She is such a joy to have around and makes me smile every day.

Hailey's Dance Performance

Hailey has been taking dance this year and has loved it. It is so fun to see her grow and progress through the year. She loves to dance and dances all over the house. Here are a few pics of her at her dance performance. We are so proud of her she is a great little girl.

Spring In Utah

So about a week ago we had a beautiful spring day. I believe it got up to 80 degrees . The very next day Byron took this picture from our back porch. Yes that is right it is SNOWING!!! The crazy thing is about an hour after this picture was taken it turned to blue skies and sunshine. That is Utah for you.

Zoo Boise

For Spring Break we went to Boise to visit my sister and her kids. We love to go visit them and have made it a tradition to visit the local Zoo "Zoo Boise" It is a great Zoo not too big, but big enough to make it fun and interesting. It was a great day!

The Garden Show

Hailey's 2nd grade did a play in April called "The Garden Show". Hailey had such a great time practicing all the songs. She sang them so much that Lars even knows the words and will correct me if I sing it wrong. Here are some pictures from the show. We did take some video as well and as soon as I figure out how to take it off the video camera and download it onto my computer I will post it. As you can see she was a bee and she was adorable!

Hailey and Miss Frost

Hailey's Cousins Sasha and Khristene came to see her in The Garden Show. We went bowling after the play and they had a great time. Thanks Khristene and Sasha for coming to see Hailey in her play!
